# WeddingSaaS Pitch Template

Copy this file, fill it in, and paste each section into the pitch form at
https://weddingsaas.com/submit/article — or attach a link to your filled-in
draft (Google Doc, Notion, Substack) in the Draft URL field.

The desk reads every pitch. Tight, specific, sourced pitches get read the
same day. Wire copy and generic trend takes go straight to the bin.

---

## 1. Working headline (max 160 chars)

One line. Argument-forward. No "The Future of…" or "How AI Is Changing…".

Example: The Knot's AI Monopoly Is Accelerating the SaaS Opportunity, Not Closing It

---

## 2. Category

Pick one: Fintech · Founder Interviews · Market Analysis · Product Launches ·
Company Perspective · Industry Data · Opinion · Tech vs Tech

---

## 3. Thesis — what's the argument and why now? (1–3 paragraphs)

Answer three questions:
- What is the industry missing or getting wrong?
- What do you know that they don't?
- Why does this land now (deal, filing, launch, data drop, seasonal cycle)?

Example thesis (excerpt):
"Wedding fintech is not a payments story — it's a working-capital story. Every
platform that has tried to sell software to venues has stalled at 2% of TAM.
The winners in the next cycle will underwrite deposits, not license SaaS.
Here's the unit-economics case, with three operator interviews on the record."

---

## 4. Sources — named people, filings, datasets, links

List them. First-party > secondary. Named > anonymous. Filings and datasets > vibes.

- Person 1, Title, Company — quoted / on-background / off-record
- Filing / dataset — URL and what it proves
- Prior coverage you're building on — link and what's new here

---

## 5. Draft URL (optional)

Google Doc, Notion, Substack, or a paste in the form. A tight pitch beats a
finished-but-generic draft.

---

## 6. Timing / embargo

"Run any time" or "Hold until Nov 5, 9am ET." Be explicit.

---

## 7. Disclosures

Any relationship — investor, employee, advisor, customer, ex-employer — to
any company you mention. We publish these with the byline. Undisclosed
conflicts get pieces killed.

---

## 8. About you

Name · Email · Affiliation (company, publication, independent) · Two links
that prove you can write and reason (published pieces, teardown threads,
internal memos you can share).

---

That's the whole template. If it takes more than 30 minutes to fill in, the
pitch probably isn't ready yet.
